The Charley Davidson series is a series that will hook you from the very first book, heck, it will hook you from the very first chapter and as the series has progressed, that hook, that addiction, has only gotten better and even more addicting.

The Charley Davidson series is a series that will hook you from the very first book, heck, it will hook you from the very first chapter and as the series has progressed, that hook, that addiction, has only gotten better and even more addicting.

Jones' eleventh book is every bit as good as it possible can be. After eleven books one would expect things to start to get to be too much or even too little but instead, each page is infused with just as much humor, fun, and adventure as always, not to mention one heck of a steamy romance. This truly is a series that has just gotten better with time.

Charley, Reyes and gang are some of my most favorite characters. With a plot line that always moves quickly and is always filled with the good stuff it truly is a series that is every bit as hard to resist as it is too put down. I always have to start this knowing that absolutely nothing else will get done that day until I have turned the very last page and wait for the next book begins.

Where to start to review this one? It was emotional and so so, MUCH. So many things happened, so much once again is revealed and that freaking ending, that ending had to be the worst (and the best) yet. It is absolutely going to be torture waiting for book twelve. I can't even believe Jones tortures us the way she has over the course of this series but I, like many others, just keep coming back for more, we can't help ourselves, the allure of Reyes and Osh, Garret, Angel, and even Ubie, are just to much not too. I love all these characters even more so now and I truly am on edge for more.

Watchful angels everywhere! a psychotic stalker, missing children and the sickest, most misguided religious adoption agency to ever see the light of day. To top it off; there is Eidolon...

That's right, there is no rest for the wicked. Or the godly. As in actual gods, of course. Our star-crossed crossed deities are unlikely to find peace on Earth anytime soon. Add a God Glass to the equation and things might get a little hairy...

But I suppose thats only to be expected when you're Satan’s daughter-in-law, Jehovah’s sister-in-law, and Jesus’s aunt by marriage. Talk about the ultimate nuclear family!

In some ways, this book was a surprise. From the way the last one ended, I was sure there main focus would be on Big Bro from on high. Instead, we're taken, not only on a hunt for the missing children, but on the first steps of a journey of self discovery as well. Turns out, you should never trust another god with your memories when you need a timeout. Or should you? Just like her hot as hell BF, Charley's memories from her time in her own, celestial realm might not be all that accurate. Especially those pertaining to her particular, shall we say "celestial diet"....

Eleventh Grade delivered all the usual banter and smexiness I've come to expect (and demand) from a Charley Davidson novel. I don't think I will ever grow tired of his endless (smuttylicious) love for Dutch. I mean; nothing says "I love you" quite like being taken on a trip to sunny Sahara to look for a speck of dust, am I right? ;-)

I wonder, though, if we will not be seeing how our favorite couple really feel about one-another now that Charley is about to regain her memories of their time together prior to their meeting in the flesh, so to speak. Luckily, they've got their awesome human/daeva/deceased spirits posse to help them.

As usual; lots of laugh-out-loud moments, the scene at the psychiatrists office was pure gold and an awesome way to start a book.

The only reason I deducted half a star was because I felt the Eidolon situation was resolved in a rather anticlimactic fashion - I kept waiting for a bigger battle

And finally; as always: I can't wait for the next installment!

Of course, Reyes and Charley are my favorite parts of this whole series and I just love getting to know more about them. Some of the things were maybe a bit too much. It's a weird situation dealing with all these "gods". But I still find it very interesting and I enjoy all the ways Darynda Jones circumvents things.

And good lord, does she ever have the imagination? I have no idea where she comes up with these things but it is freakin' amazin' and HOT! Phewww! I think even Reyes surprised himself! ;)

I love that Charley got to have some tender moments with a certain someone. I think that was something she really needed and I would've loved to of seen more of that. I also wouldn't mind getting more about Beep...unfortunately, that's probably not going to happen for a while.

As always, Ubie, Cookie, Amber, Angel, Freakin' Osh (I love him more and more) and everyone else plays their parts and makes the story oh-so-much-better.

    But nothing,

    , hands-down beats that awesome

freakin' ending. I can only hope that it has the same kind of situation that Charley had when she was in Sleepy Hollow. It's gonna be awesome and I cannot wait!

...Oh and I hope there's lots of angry sex ~ lots and lots of it.

So where to start with this book. I'm a fan of this series and of this author, so I sometimes, when I know there is a new book on the horizon, tend to mildly stalk Darynda on her facebook. And what would you know, that's exactly where she so kindly posted the link to NetGalley, about this story being there up for grabs. Of course I had to get this book and I did. Yes! It's no surprise that I really liked this new story. I can never get enough of Reyes and Charley. I recently started to collect the paperbacks (I can't find the hardcovers and it sucks!), because you know, you can never have enough books. That being said, the mother of all cliffhangers! Are you kidding me?!!!

It came out of nowhere! I felt like the last 10% were totaly on a higher lever than the rest of the plot, since that's where we actually continue the story from the previous book, as in what happens with the god that wants to kill Beep. The rest of the plot was more like a nice story but also in a way a filler. I dunno. But I do know that I need the next book ASAP!

But back to the story. The plot is more about Amber and about her stalker, I know, crazy right?! Did not see that one coming. And about Reyes's brother but from a different mother. It all makes sense when you read the book. I loved every page. Charley is as crazy and funny as always and Reyes is simply Reyes. There's not much to say about these two. They simply fit. Charley learns a few new cool things about who she is and what kind of power she possesses, also how to use it. That was definitely fun, especially since some hot and I mean HOT scenes came out of all that learning lesson. ;) We also get to see the rest of the gang. I really liked Osh, he seems like the type of character that you simply grow to love. I really wonder, if we ever get to see him and Beep together, as in they have their own book. That would be so awesome! But firstly we have to save Charley from starting a war with Him and of course the freaking cliffy! That was so not nice! But it does make you wonder what will happen next. I think there are some great new plot twists that we can expect.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say with my long rant, is that you should definitely get the book and read it!

As a fan it hurts me that every freaking book is now a cliffhanger. I use to be the biggest advocate for this series, and honestly I just feel letdown as a fan of the series. I get so sick and tired of little info being put out each book that pertains to the big showdown at the end of whenever and then bam cliffhanger. It's now book 11, what are we waiting for? It's super convoluted, and I just find myself frustrated at best to describe it. I put in my time, money, energy and love into this seri

I get so sick and tired of little info being put out each book that pertains to the big showdown at the end of whenever and then bam cliffhanger. It's now book 11, what are we waiting for? It's super convoluted, and I just find myself frustrated at best to describe it. I put in my time, money, energy and love into this series. I think about how the series started, and yeah nothing was set in stone, but so much information is being put out at each book that I've lost focus on what the end game was. It seems like a lot of filler information, and nothing set in stone for a finale of epic proportion and what I feel like we were lead to believe. I mean at this points, it just seems like it's never going to end. I don't see the ending in sight. I know it's bad for me when it's not even funny anymore, and I just want the book to end. Trust me, I'm mad.

    **Sighs**

Charley and Reyes continue to do the back and forth not talking, talking, not trusting, trusting each other. It's annoying. It's also annoying that Charley has to continuously ask what she can do, and never try anything first. She never attempts things on her own when it comes to her powers. I know Reyes is the know how when it comes to this stuff, but damn Charley the foolishness has to stop.

I didn't really gain anything by this book. A few scenes satisfied me, and of course I love seeing the gang together, but it's the second book since Beep was born that we still don't see them interacting with her. I KNOW they aren't suppose to but, the Charley from books 1-5 would have moved heaven and hell to see her child. Atleast it's what I think. I'm getting tired of Reyes doing the same posturing he does every book. Ya'll know I love me some Reyes Alexander Farrow, but I think him and I are almost at our end. As I type this, I know I'm not mentally strong enough to quit the series until I know it's over.

I miss the old formula to this series, and sometimes I feel like it's this long because it's a money train. That's the angry side of me, and I hope it's not the case. I really wish we can get back to the investigating and an end game. I feel like this group of people has been through enough, and nothing else needs to shake them. What I didn't need was another cliffhanger. Yet we can't get everything we ask for.

I read the past three CHARLEY DAVIDSON titles, and looking back that was a mistake because Lorelei King’s voice has become as synonymous with these books as the t-shirt quotes. Things are still trucking along after 11 volumes, some for the better, and others not so much. Like any long running series, it’s had its hiccups. More questions get added while as others are answered, but overall ELEVENTH GRAVE IN THE MOONLIGHT was another set-up installment for what is to come,

More questions get added while as others are answered, but overall ELEVENTH GRAVE IN THE MOONLIGHT was another set-up installment for what is to come, and personally I’m beginning to feel like Darynda Jones has published one too many of these.

I can’t knock the humour, the characters or the diverse plot lines. The author knows how to write a fun story, I’ll give you that. Davidson has a tell-all session with a shrink that left me in stitches, and her latest quandary on what to call Reyes’ dink—the Vampire Lestat or Angry Johnny? —is up there with “Danger” and “Will Robinson”. Still, as certain death looms in the not so distant future, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to buy into her godhood, and believe that when the time comes, Charley will be able to focus long enough to get the job done.

My issue from the previous novel with regards to Ubie was addressed, and the protagonist is making inroads towards seizing the power that’s within her grasp. All good signs. The Diviners cult thread was definitely an eye-opener in more ways than one. We learn a lot about Davidson’s pre-reaper days which was long overdue, although I am having trouble piecing the then and now together because the two versions of Charley are polar opposites, but I’m positive that Jones has something up her sleeve. BIG things better happen in book 12 after that ending otherwise meltdown city over here!

Lorelei King was spectacular! I really am kicking myself for succumbing to the lure of shiny advanced review copies. Hopefully I have learned my lesson, and will pre-order the remaining audiobooks from here on out. She didn’t add any new tricks to her wheelhouse other than maybe an Scottish accent during Davidson’s impromptu trip across the pond where she happens to stumble across another closet like the one that kept her hidden at the convent. King is as steady as a rock in her delivery of this series; I’d know blindfolded what she was narrating from the moment she opened her mouth.

ELEVENTH GRAVE IN THE MOONLIGHT did nothing to alleviate my craving for more CHARLEY DAVIDSON, if anything it only made matters worse.

    Eleventh Grave

There is never enough pages in these books ! Ms Jones writes so magically that it always feels like I just started the book then BAM it’s over. I get lost in the story, lose track of time and become totally emerged in Charlie Davidson’s world, fall so completely in love with her husband. Ah, I mean I really enjoy reading these characters. Falling in love with a fictional character would be nuts right ? I may be a little nuts.

The plot was also really good, investigating cults and perverts all in the life of Charley Davidson. Definitely a perfect addition to the series.
